The appearance of the pattern differs depending on the place where the cloth is taken.
Meisen is a plain woven silk fabric. At the process of weaving the dyed yarns are intentionally shifted for blur nuance. This techneque called "Kasuri." Meisen was very popular between late Taisho-era (1912-1926) and early Showa-era (1926-1989.)
