Kumoi-Chirimen is a one of Chirimen fabric. tight S-twisted and Z-twisted thread are put together and woven into a same shed. Weaving tissue becomes vertical ridge, and the Shibo (irregularities) does not occur too much. This name comes from the appearance of a cloud-like (Kumo) pattern on the surface due to light modulation.

Chirimen is a fabric that uses yarn with almost no twist warp threads, and is alternately woven with tight S-twisted and tight Z-twisted weft threads. Therefore, with scouring, the cloth shrinks and the texture appears on the surface of the fabric with desired irregularities.

Edo-Komon is a Komon dyed in Edo (Tokyo). It seems to be plain when seen from a distance, but according to the nearby it knows that a very fine pattern is given. Craftmen use dye patterns and dye them manually.
